During a clinical elective, medical students can familiarize themselves with practical medical work in outpatient and inpatient healthcare facilities.
What does everyday medical practice actually look like? What does it involve? Which patients and colleagues will you encounter, and how? A clinical elective provides first-hand experience.
Medical students completing a clinical elective in Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy can participate in admission appointments, medical history taking, physical examinations, crisis interventions, consultation-liaison services, group treatments, ward rounds, and more. In addition, the APM training network provides access to numerous theoretical courses and conferences at its cooperating training institutions, including those beyond the student's immediate placement.
